Get ready for nostalgia as a classic video game icon makes his return back to his, and most likely your, roots. New Super Mario Brothers Wii is the follow up to the DS version of the same name (minus the Wii part of course). It's a reimagining of the classic NES and SNES mario games of yesterday with enhanced visuals, level design and control methods. In this side-scrolling old school platformer, Peach is (yet again) kidnapped from the castle by Bowser and it's up to Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and the Mushroom Kingdom's proud servants, Toads, to put Bowser back in his place. Much like the usual mario platformer, you run, jump, stomp, shoot fireballs and swim to complete levels and defeat bosses. So what's so "new" about this you ask? The Wii's remote gives an unprecedented amount of new gameplay mechanics that make old mario feel like new again. For example, there is a new power up called the Propeller Suit. To propel to the sky, simply shake the WiiMote and off you go! Also, there are certain platforms in the game that correlate to the tilt of the Wiimote of the player standing on it; tilt it right, the platform goes right, tilt left, and it goes left. The most talked about new feature is the 4 player simultaneous multiplayer. You and up to 3 friends can either cooperate to complete levels or sabotage each other to play competitively. This adds a whole new layer of excitement and fun to a game that already is at a grand level of fun. Some gripes are that the controls feel somewhat more "slippy slidy" than the DS version, but it's hardly noticable. And some of the levels don't seem to be made with multiplayer in mind, you'll find sometimes that you're simply trying to keep up with the player in the leading position. But those are minor inconveniences to what is a relatively flawless game. It does what the title suggests, it makes Mario new.

Final Rating: 5 out of 5

Post your thoughts on the game once you've tried it, and don't forget to vote in the poll! Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask away!
This is the best Mario Bros. Game YET!! The multiplayer feature is amazing! Having four players simultaneously playing can get a bit competitive, but it's up to you if you wanna keep it that way. The NEW Power-ups are amazing, especially the propeller hat! With a quick shake of the Wiimote; you go flying into the air amazingly soaring down. The story is the same as all the others as Chaos Punk said, Peach gets kidnapped blah blah blah... but it's still a whole new game! With only 8 worlds, I managed to pass the whole game in about a little less than 10 hours (with only me and my cousin). But you get a little surprise at the end Wink (I won't ruin it for you). At first I was shocked at how lame the ending was, but Nintendo ALWAYS has tricks up their sleeves.
Hi Guys I like it.
